HISTORY
The Body of Christ Assembly has humble beginnings. On August 19, 1990, Bishop Eric Kincaid Clark established our church in the gymnasium of an elementary school located at 9417 Orleans Avenue in Cleveland inner city.
The ministry began with 9 individuals, two 15-minute radio broadcasts and a man on fire for God! It was eight months later that the Lord provided a permanent facility for our young church at 10508 Union Avenue. Bishop Clark began a massive renovation project on the building as God began a massive renovation project on the people. The ministry flourished under Pastor Clark's leadership and many souls were won to the family of God through street evangelism, an expanded radio ministry and many open-air services.
From 1994 -1998 Bishop Clark was led of the Lord to relocate our ministry to an area of the city where both inner city and suburban communities could join together in worship. During that transitional period the Body of Christ Assembly had somewhat of wilderness experience. Where we left our home on Union Avenue and met in the Mayfield Civic Center located at 3130 Mayfield Road, then in Beachwood's Holiday Inn. From there our led us to Mega Church at 3170 Scranton Road located on Cleveland’s lower west side then back to our original home at 9417 Orleans Avenue.
Finally, the Lord blessed us to purchase and move into the old Sears and Roebuck Appliance Repair Center. Again, after a massive renovation process the building now located at 20900 Miles Parkway serves as our permanent home where we can accommodate 700 people in worship. We have classrooms, offices and a Multi-Purpose Facility. Presently, our ministry has over 400 families and several Outreach Ministries including: Audio/Visual, Music, Evangelism, Dance, Youth/Children's Ministry, New Members classes, Food Pantry and a church in Africa. We celebrate our church anniversary in August every year as we reflect the time of serving God's people. This is the History of the Body of Christ Assembly Church and considering our history we know that our Destiny is Bright!
